Part 2 - The Road Goes On

After shooting my first location and enjoying the beautiful view, walking and half running down the mountain it was time to drive the first long stretch of Iceland. The destination was a volcanic crater called Hrossaborg.

But first the road lead through some of the most amazing landscapes I’ve ever seen. At some places, Iceland indeed is like being on another planet (or moon) – I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Arriving at Hrossaborg, which is this cool volcanic crater, where a scene from the 2013 Tom Cruise movie “Oblivion” was shot, I realized that I had spent a bit too much time at Hengifoss and the sun was setting fast. I had some cool plans for the sunset at another location, so sadly I had to skip going near the crater. Changing plans on the road and improvising is something you should be ready for on a photography journey like this. You never know what coincidences might happen, which can force you to change all your plans. I did get this beautiful panorama of Hrossaborg though.
